Lincoln Road puts on the best Hallowe’en evenings I’ve ever experienced, but even by the stratospheric standards of South Beach, 2014 really topped the charts. To be fair, the real estate company that manages Lincoln Road is superb at putting on events, and they almost certainly hire professionals like (I suspect) this puppet master and his minions, but the local community picks up the baton with gusto, as you can see in the Hallowe’en portfolio.
To be sure, Fantasy Fest in Key West is a longer event, stretching the entire month of October. But it’s strictly adult-only, with the city being clothing-optional so long as you have some sort of “costume.” Or so we’ve heard; we love Key West but have never ventured down in October. Lincoln Road, on the other hand, is nominally family-friendly, although the kids normally turn in by ten at which point the costumes and those who inhabit them respond accordingly. Wanda and I typically bridge the times, so these images represent a selection of each.
Enjoy!
